There is something for everyone at West Overton Villlage! Our 35-acre historic site has numerous places to explore. Guests usually spend 1 - 3 hours on site.

Please note that the Museum, Distillery, and house tours have different hours of operation, and hours are subject to change due to programs and events.

Museum

Located in the 1859 distillery/gristmill building, the Museum is home to exhibitions and our Whiskey Heritage Center. Open Thursday - Sunday from 10 a.m - 4 p.m. from May - October.

Distillery

Get a taste of history at West Overton Distilling! Cocktails, flights, and bottles available to purchase. Currently open Thursday-Friday from 10 a.m. - 8 p.m. and Saturday-Sunday from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.

1838 Overholt Homestead

Tour the Overholt family home and learn about the history of West Overton. Open only during guided tours on Sundays at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.

Gardens & Grounds

Grounds are open daily with no admission. Explore 10 interpretive signs across the historic site.

Saturday - Sunday from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Tours of Overholt Homestead

Guided tours of the 1838 Overholt Homestead will be offered on Sundays at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.

GROUP RATE

Pre-scheduled groups of 10+ can arrange for guided tours and museum admission receive a discounted admission of $15.

MUSEUMS FOR ALL

West Overton Village is a proud participant of Museums for All, an initiative that strives to make museums more accessible for everyone. West Overton Village offers a $0 admission cost for groups of up to 4 guests eligible by receiving EBT/SNAP benefits. 

LIBRARY MUSEUM PASS 

West Overton Village is a proud member of the Westmoreland Library Network's Museum Pass program. Participants can check out a pass from the library (just like a book) to receive complimentary admission to West Overton Village for two adults and up to four children. Please contact libraries within the network to learn more and participate. 

Distillery Admission

West Overton Distilling is free to visit. Cocktails, flights, and bottles of rye are available for purchase.

Parking

There are several parking lots providing closer access to different areas of our property:

  • Museum: parking is available behind the building and in front of the Overholt Homestead. Handicap parking is available in front of the Overholt Homestead (look for the white fence in front of the house).
  • Overholt Room (located on the lowest floor of the Museum): parking is available behind the building. 
  • Distillery and Big Barn: parking is available near the barns. Visitors can also walk over or be dropped off.
  • Parking for programs and events will vary according to the event. Some event parking will be near the Distillery and Big Barn. 
  • For weddings and private events at the Big Barn, parking is available in a lot next to the barn.
