Scherenschnitte

Turn paper into ornate home decor in this activity about Scherenschnitte (pronounced SHARE-en-shnit-ah), a form of artistic paper cutting. Learn how this traditionally Swiss-German activity became a mainstay of local Pennsylvania culture, and then make your own! Additionally, view a wide variety of artifacts related to home decoration in the 19th century to better understand how the ways we furnish our homes has changed - and what has not.

Drop in anytime from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. to explore history and do-it-yourself!

DIY (Do-It-Yourself) History Days are a new program series of free, hands-on, family-friendly activities in the Museum.

There is no registration or cost to participate, and children must be accompanied by an adult.

This program is generously funded by the EQT Foundation.
